Equity markets are lower while crypto prices are flat after a mixed US employment report that showed disappointing job growth, but a lower than expected unemployment rate and faster than expected earnings growth. Notable news includes: the ECB may reconsider its relationship with any European national bank that adds Bitcoin to its reserves; Japan’s FSA requested Apple and Google block unregistered crypto exchange apps in the country; US House republicans released a discussion draft for stablecoin regulation; the US CFTC will hold a CEO Forum in anticipation of creating a stablecoin pilot program; the Utah House passed a state-level strategic Bitcoin reserve bill; Missouri proposed a strategic Bitcoin reserve; Yahoo reportedly blocked crypto company press releases; the SEC acknowledged filings for Grayscale’s Litecoin and Solana trusts; the CBOE filed four spot XRP ETF applications; Gemini is reportedly exploring an IPO this year; and, Sony’s Ethereum L2 Soneium launched a music NFT collection.
