Notable news includes: The US SEC released staff guidance clarifying that memecoins are not securities; TRON and the SEC filed a joint motion to pause ongoing legal proceedings as the parties explore a potential settlement; BlackRock added its IBIT Bitcoin ETF to one of its model portfolios with suggested allocations for advisors; CME Group announced it will introduce Solana futures on March 17th, pending regulatory approval; German exchange Boerse Stuttgart partnered with DekaBank to provide crypto trading for the bank’s institutional clients; former Congressman Patrick McHenry joined Ondo Finance’s advisory board as vice chairman; the Trump Organization filed a trademark application for TRUMP Metaverse; Uniswap partnered with Robinhood, MoonPay and Transak to streamline crypto-to-fiat transactions globally; Metamask announced major wallet upgrades including Bitcoin and Solana integration; the Ethereum Foundation announced the creation of an external advisory group called the Silviculture Society tasked with preserving the network’s core values; Ethereum layer 2 Base announced several upgrades including 200 millisecond block confirmations, appchains and smart wallet sub accounts; and, Coinbase, NEAR AI and others formed the Open Agents Alliance to ensure open, secure, and fair access to AI.
