Notable news includes: Russia introduced a draft amendment proposing a 15% tax on crypto earnings; Trump Media is in advanced talks to purchase crypto company Bakkt; Trump will meet with Coinbase CEO Armstrong to discuss personnel appointments; Jason Lowery, Softwar author and US Hash Force proponent, applied to serve as a US military advisor; a California judge allowed the SEC’s lawsuit against Kraken to move forward; a California judge ruled that DAOs can be treated as general partnerships, exposing members to potential liability for the actions of other participants; Heather Morgan was sentenced to 18 months in prison for her role in the 2016 Bitfinex hack; battery materials provider Solidion, circuit design company Nano Labs, healthcare group Cosmos Health, and AI firm Genius all added or revealed intentions to add digital assets as a treasury asset; options on BlackRock’s spot Bitcoin ETF were approved to launch today; Binance unveiled a “reward-bearing margin asset for futures trading” called BFUSD; perps DEX dYdX shipped its Unlimited upgrade enabling permissionless market listings; decentralized AI project Morpheus went live on mainnet; and, AI-directed ai16z rocketed 50% after a16z’s CTO tweeted about it.
